CLINICAL ADVISOR
Anne Marie Biancalana, RN, PMHN-BC, ICP
I am Anne Marie Biancalana, a Registered Nurse at Sophia Health Institute in Woodinville, WA. I was inspired to go to nursing school after I saw the compassionate care provided by nurses to the distraught mothers of stillborn babies in my volunteer work with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. I witnessed the impact that nurses could have in the most difficult of emotional circumstances, and knew I wanted to contribute in whatever way I could to ease suffering and facilitate healing. Eventually, this realization and a growing frustration with the limitations of the medical-industrial complex brought me to seek out new tools in the world of holistic and integrative medicine. I joined the staff at Sophia Health Institute in 2018 and have been blessed to work alongside Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt and our associate physicians to help patients heal physically, mentally and emotionally.
I was introduced to IASIS Tech in 2019 and was blown away by how quickly, gently and effectively it worked to shift patients with a variety of neurological and emotional symptoms. It has quickly become my preferred tool and a large part of my nursing practice. Among the many patients I have seen respond positively to their IASIS treatments, there are a few in particular that stand out. One patient with ALS saw severe insomnia resolve and actually started enjoying vivid dreams without any medication for the first time in years. Another with autism found the ability to express emotions that had been largely inaccessible prior to treatment. A third started treatment amid a breakup with a life partner of over 10 years. Antidepressants were started shortly before starting IASIS and discontinued after the first three sessions without an exacerbation in symptoms. The patient credits the ability to function and move forward with life through the breakup to the IASIS treatments. It has truly been a life-changing tool for even my sickest and most fragile patients.
When I am not with patients at Sophia, I spend time hanging out with my college-age daughter (who is currently studying Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley and is also fascinated by all things brain-related), reading, dancing, practicing yoga, developing my skills as a yoga instructor, and hiking in the vast beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
