Military/Veteran/First-Responder Liaison & Training Development Coordinator
David Carrasquillo, ICP
Dave Carrasquillo is our Military/Veteran/First Responder Liaison and Training Development Coordinator. He serves as our ambassador to our military and veteran communities, having earned the title of United States Marine in service during the Gulf War, where he was awarded the National Defense Medal for his service to the country. Additionally, he is a Retired Police Detective, having served the State of California and the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area as a Peace Officer. Mr. Carrasquillo is a highly decorated Police Officer, having been awarded the Distinguish Service Award for Valor and the Medal of Valor (awarded twice), the two highest awards for bravery while performing a police officer’s duties. Additionally, he received the California Attorney General Award for Valor for going above and beyond the call of duty. During his career, he received over three dozen awards for bravery from the California State Assembly, California State Legislature, United States Congress, and United States Senate. The cost of obtaining these awards where two heart attacks (one while on duty) along with six heart surgeries.
These highly stressful incidents are what led him to the world of Neurofeedback. After his second heart attack, his cardiologist (IASIS patient) recommended that he make an appointment with Barry Bruder, who was practicing Low Energy Neurofeedback (LENS) at the time. After several sessions (40 plus), Mr. Carrasquillo recognized a difference in how he felt and dealt with the stress and anxiety associated with his line of work. So much so that he qualified and became a practicing Certified LENS Provider. He maintained his working relationship with Barry Bruder as he welcomed IASIS MCN, becoming one of the first IASIS Certified Providers. Since its inception, Mr. Carrasquillo has been with IASIS MCN, attending and assisting with nearly every Fundamentals of IASIS Training (FOI).
He is our Training Development Coordinator and offers a vast amount of experience. He has over 13 years of experience as an IASIS Certified Provider and Trainer. His professional training certifications and experience as a multifaceted law enforcement instructor make him an essential addition to our training community. He is responsible for the training and developing future IASIS IASIS-certified practitioners and trainers, developing the training course and final certification. He has authored the current version of the FOI Training Manual and conducts the FOI Training at our Texas and California training sites. Additionally, he is certified to provide “On-Site Training” for the FOI and is part of our IASIS Special Sales Travel Team.
Mr. Carrasquillo is devoted to his country and community and is currently a City Councilman for the City of Brazos Country, Texas, Events Coordinator for the Austin County Rotary Club, and the President of Valored Cohesion Solutions, a 501(c)(3) charity he founded in 2022, to support veterans, first responder, their families, and victims of domestic terrorism, dealing with mental health crisis. His charity focuses on providing cost-free mental health services by trained psychotherapists using IASIS and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as therapy for anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance abuse, anger issues, and TBI. His nonprofit is currently conducting a pilot study for using said modalities for the described mental health issues, hoping that a best practice for treating veterans and first responders will be institutionalized amongst the IASIS Psychotherapist Community.
