CLINICAL ADVISOR
Fara Murata, LCSW, CNEP, ICP
My name is Fara Murata, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I started my private practice in 2001 with high hopes of changing lives. My master’s program specialized in Child Welfare so I could work with children and teens of sexual abuse and trauma. I wanted to provide healing at a young age so they would not have to live a lifetime of false beliefs and could grow to be healthy adults. I also work with victims of domestic violence and various types of crime, as well as clients with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, autism, and ADHD.
It did not take long for me to realize that traditional counseling methods were not producing the results I wanted for clients, so I began looking into natural and alternative ways to find desired outcomes. It is hard to overcome any debilitating issue if your body and mind are not healthy. My own health journey led me to a Certification in Nutritional Endocrinology. As I applied principles from functional medicine and integrative mental health, I was overjoyed with the results I was seeing in young and old alike. I found that treating the whole person gave me unique expertise to meet the growing demand of clients wanting to avoid medication. Having such great success led to more training and now I’m also certified in Nutritional and Integrative Interventions for Mental Health Disorders, and a practitioner in Bioindividual Nutrition.
I desired to improve my education in functional and integrative nutrition, which is why I attended a conference in 2019 for Integrative Medicine in Mental Health. That is where I discovered IASIS Neurofeedback. At the conference I received an IASIS Neurofeedback treatment and was impressed with the results. In October I implemented IASIS Neurofeedback in my psychotherapy practice and saw phenomenal changes with my clients. It has been a game changer! I no longer use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with my trauma clients; they are all put on IASIS Neurofeedback for quicker results that are long lasting. The calming of the nervous system immediately reduces PTSD triggers and provides improvements in all aspects of their life. My clients have ranged from 9 months to 80 years old. Having a passive system allows me to treat clients that would not be able to tolerate traditional neurofeedback. I have completely changed my practice to focus on providing IASIS Neurofeedback. There are so many places IASIS Neurofeedback can be used to change lives: children with concussions so they are not mislabeled with ADHD and put on medication, babies that have a difficult start to life, children exposed to abuse and violence, healthcare workers that experience secondary trauma and PTSD. The possibilities are endless. I’m thankful to be part of cutting-edge technology that can bring so much hope and healing to so many.
