CLINICAL ADVISOR
Gary Duke, LPC, ICP
Gary Duke, MA, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor living in Tyler, Tx. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 1976, Gary began working at a children’s psychiatric hospital in Amarillo, Tx. and there began a career in the mental health field. Gary retired in 2018 after 43 years of working with traumatized children and their families. Over the course of his career, he became the CEO of three residential treatment centers for emotionally disturbed children and the CEO of a foster care agency for the last nine years of his career. Gary wanted to retire and spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends with a little camping, traveling, fishing, and tennis thrown in. Apparently, God had a different idea and in February 2019 Gary and Gloria opened Trinity Integrative Care to provide counseling services and IASIS Neurofeedback. In May 2019. Gloria and Gary began a research project in collaboration with the University of Texas at Tyler evaluating the use of IASIS Neurofeedback on mental health outcomes specifically looking at anxiety and PTSD. The research project has been challenging and was interrupted after the Covid epidemic began. After re-opening, they have continued research efforts and hope to finish this first research pilot published in 2021. The preliminary results are showing a significant reduction in symptoms for those struggling with mental health issues. Gary and Gloria hope to be a part of validating the use of IASIS Neurofeedback as a best practice and thereby making it more widely used and accepted as a tool to improve the quality of life for many struggling people.
