As a young boy, Dr. Jon Harmon received such significant benefit from chiropractic care that he was inspired to become a Doctor of Chiropractic himself. This aspiration, ignited early in his life, has always remained his true passion. He attended the University of Utah, has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and later graduated summa cum laude from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1989. He has been practicing in Boise, Idaho ever since. He is happily married to Karla Harmon and is the father of 8 children (plus two stepchildren), as well as the grandfather of 26!

After enduring significant family tragedies, Dr. Jon Harmon witnessed the severe depression, anxiety and insomnia of his younger daughters. This spurred him on a mission to discover ways to help his own family leading him to found Clear Mind Idaho in 2016. He knew he needed some specialized education and so spent the next three years studying to become Board Certified in Neurofeedback and QEEG.

It was during this time that he took many courses including courses on low level laser therapy and functional neurology. He has incorporated some of these therapies into his practice to help his patients achieve optimal brain health!

After using the older style of neurofeedback called “Operant Conditioning” where a brain map was needed in order to obtain the protocols to treat a dysregulated brain, he was introduced to the IASIS system. This form of neurofeedback, called microcurrent neurofeedback, untrains the brain from the faulty patterns where it may be stuck- thereby causing symptoms! When he found out that it is so safe that it can be used on even really small children, and yes, infants, he knew that he had to embrace this new technology so that he could help even the youngest of children who would not be able to be treated with the older style of neurofeedback because it requires that someone sit still for 30 minutes during a session! This is nearly impossible with small children who have attention deficits and who are in constant motion!

There is so much anxiety, Depression, ADD, ADHD and other brain disorders in the world right now and Dr. Jon Harmon is committed to helping take this technology out to the world and make communities, cities, states and even countries better places to live when the people in those communities have better functioning brains leading to less tension, more productivity, more creativity and more fulfillment in those who received this care!
