Barry Bruder

Barry Bruder’s vision to help alleviate the suffering of those who’ve sacrificed themselves for our country, is the catalyst behind IASIS. His determination to better help our country’s finest men and women and their selfless acts of courage, inspired Barry Bruder to develop a Neurofeedback system that has yielded far better results than he could have imagined. Today, in pursuit of his dream, with over five years experience and having given thousands of sessions to hundreds of people, Barry is confident that IASIS is a sustainable method.

Barry Bruder has a private practice in Los Angeles and Temecula, California, as well as Carson City, Nevada, with Dr. Frank Shallenberger. He works with military and first responders and others afflicted with post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, critical and chronic illnesses, autism, anxiety disorder, ADD, ADHA, insomnia, and addiction to name a few.

Prior to his work with neurofeedback, Barry Bruder worked with children as a counselor at Dream Street, a Los Angeles-based summer camp for critically ill children.  In 1993, during a visit to Los Angeles, he caught the attention of Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, a world-renowned psychiatrist and author.  Touched by his work, Dr. Kübler-Ross personally invited Barry to study with her. From 1993 to 1995, Barry traveled back and forth from L.A. to her teaching and healing center in Virginia, learning and immersing himself in the grieving and healing process.

Barry’s experiences at Dream Street inspired him to create and co-found The Safe Place for Pediatric AIDS, a nonprofit organization serving infected and affected children in central and south central Los Angeles. Barry also served on the board of directors for the Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation, an organization which provides financial assistance to single parents of terminally ill children, enabling the parent to spend more time with the child until the time of the child’s passing.

In 1997, Barry Bruder co-founded the Clear Path Workshops, focusing on creating safe places for people throughout the United States to externalize repressed emotions caused by trauma or loss. Clear Path facilitated workshops in Virginia, Maine and Los Angeles several times a year. In 2000, the founder of a leading Malibu rehab sought Barry out for his recovery and life coaching abilities. This led to a shift in working with individuals in the arena of recovery which then became a primary focus of Barry’s.

In 2010, he experienced, first-hand, the benefits of neurofeedback and was so impressed that he became a certified neurofeedback provider. On a search for the most advanced neurofeedback system he developed a system which, in 2013, became known as IASIS Neurofeedback.

Barry’s primary goal to integrate the use of IASIS Neurofeedback into our country’s military (on front lines as well as during recovery and redeployment) and first responders’ recovery programs, as well as in clinicians’ offices, and hospitals throughout the United States and beyond – giving relief to many, and offering hope for relief from stress and encouraging relaxation.

Research is now underway in conjunction with the University of California at San Diego studying the efficacy of IASIS Neurofeedback as an intervention for PTSD & TBI in severely wounded American Military heroes. “I will not rest until every military and first responder (and their families) who sacrificed so much for our freedom know the hope-giving benefits of IASIS Neurofeedback.”
